Primary School
Primary School Lessons are for children attending Prep to Grade 6 and are designed to incorporate the requirements of NAPLAN and Victorian Curriculum.
My English Tutor focus our curriculum on a wide range of specially selected texts to make sure what your child’s learning with us correlates directly to the skills and knowledge they need for school.
The texts are designed to encourage your child’s connection with the English language and guarantee the success of their schoolwork.
Skills Lesson
These lessons cover all requirements that children have in terms of reading, writing, spelling, vocabulary and grammar. These skills are fundamental and needed to be practiced in order to become good readers and writers.
It is essential a child completes Skills Lessons if they are to undertake Writing Lessons.
Writing Lesson
These lessons have been specially designed to team up children with composition difficulties with our expert English Writing tutors. The children will spend these lessons reading differing styles of prose, learning how to structure their writing and express their ideas.

Tailored Lesson
These lessons can be based around the needs, learning style and goals of individual students. These lessons are extremely beneficial to students who are ahead of the class in particular areas as we can challenge them more outside of school hours or falling behind their class in particular areas as we can offer additional help that there is not time for in the classroom.
Lesson Types
Small group lessons
To ensure each child receives individual attention from their tutor, there are no more than four (4) students per group. Children in these lessons are grouped up to ensure they constantly challenge and encourage each other with their education and the limited student number ensures no child gets left behind. With a focus on peer learning, your child’s tutor will encourage those will lower confidence to get more comfortable joining group conversations. The children are taught to encourage each other to do well and work their hardest.
Individual Lessons
In these lessons, your child is partnered with a tutor that is an expert in the area that needs extra attention. This means that your child’s on-on-one lesson will be 100% focused to their specific needs and learning abilities. Individual lessons can run for 60 - 90 minutes.
